Meet Noemi Corpuz

Working for a Better Oxnard
Noemi grew up in the Philippines and moved to Los Angeles when she was 14. She learned early what hard work and sacrifice mean. She worked, paid her own way through college, attended night school, and completed her prerequisites before entering nursing school. That experience shaped her belief that families deserve real opportunity, strong schools, safe neighborhoods, and city services that actually work.
Noemi has lived in Oxnard for 20 years and is raising two children, now 18 and 14. As a mom, she understands the daily concerns local families face, from school quality and neighborhood safety to the cost of living and the need for clean, well-maintained public spaces.

As a nurse, Noemi has dedicated her career to caring for people, solving problems under pressure, and stepping in when help is needed. She has worked in Ventura County healthcare, including hospital nursing, and has also volunteered through her nurses union for more than a decade.
Noemi’s community service goes beyond her profession. She has served as a neighborhood leader and has been active on local issues affecting residents directly, including landscape maintenance district fees, weed abatement, tree maintenance, ADA compliance, and neighborhood quality of life.
Noemi is running for City Council because she believes Oxnard families deserve safer neighborhoods, better-maintained streets and public spaces, stronger accountability at City Hall, and leadership that listens first and follows through.
